The N.Y.C. reservoirs offer some of the best year round freshwater fishing opportunities found anywhere in the northeast. The best fishing is usually from a rowboat (no motors allowed). There are a total of 21 N.Y.C. reservoirs; 15 locations in Westchester and Putnam County and six (6) located in the Catskills. Practically every species of fish can be found in the reservoir system and each year many of the largest fish caught in New York State originate from these reservoirs.
